SSU, founded in December 2005 as Southern Somali Union, is a political organization dedicated to fighting occupation, slavery, economic subjugation and environmental degradation in southern Somalia. Southern Somali Union strives to promote understanding and respect amongst all indigenous clans, tribes and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution and education.
