This conference took place in Baraaka Hotel, Eastleigh in February, 2006. It was attended by delegates from as far as Canada, USA, the UK, Dubai, Somalia, Ethiopia and many others who live and work in Nairobi. At that meeting the Secretary General of the SSU Eng. Abdulkadir Khalif addressed the delegates and expounded on the purpose for which the SSU was created and its aims and objectives. The Secretary General afterwards addressed a press conference attended by more than 12 members of Somali News Media. He answered many questions fielded by the reporters. before the conclusion of the meeting, the Secretary General appointed Mr. Hussein Jaabiri to act as the Director and co-ordinator of SSU activities in the East African Nation.
